Do not use vibrating massagers!

There are many different types of physiotherapy devices for home use. Which device should be chosen to treat joints and the spine? First of all, it must be a CE-certified medical device. Secondly, the technical specifications should provide information about the amplitude of the micro-vibrations and the frequency range in which the device operates. Micro-vibrations of 50 or less microns amplitude are safe and natural for the body. Do not use vibro-massagers! The most effective are devices with a constantly-changing frequency within the natural sound scale.

Therapy should have a systematic approach

In order to achieve a maximum regenerative effect, micro-vibrations should be also applied to the area of liver, kidneys and spine. These organs are responsible for blood filtration and blood creation. The application of micro-vibrations in a specific frequency range to human tissue is called microvibrational therapy or fonotherapy.

Limiting the strain on the joints is a must!

  • Do not carry loads over 5 kg;
  • Do not exhaust yourself; Recommended daily rest – at least two hours. Walk less when fatigued;
  • Limit travel by public transport;
  • If you have complaints of the leg joints, pay attention to the smoothness and softness of your gait. Do not run or jump. When descending stairs, put your weight on the healthy leg, and then move the other leg. Likewise, when going upstairs – put the healthy leg forward. Dynamic strain is more dangerous than static strain;
  • Wear comfortable, soft shoes;
  • During rehabilitation, gradually increase the strain and spread it evenly throughout the day. At the beginning of treatment limit number of steps to 500-1000 (10-20 minutes walking daily). Consider using a cane, especially during the first phase of therapy. After a month, gradually increase the number of steps (add 50 steps per day or an extra one minute walk) and limit the use of a cane.

Changing the diet

During therapy, proteins (meat, fish, poultry, eggs, squid, soy and legumes) should only be eaten every other day or even less frequently. This change will help improve the functioning of the liver, increase the lymph flow through the tissue of the body and the supply of composite proteins. It is not necessary to completely give up meat. Meals should provide an adequate amount of fats.

Duration of treatment

When the joint pain is fresh, the causes can be eliminated within 2-3 days, so it is good to have the Fonovit device at hand at all times.* Many things can happen: bruises, staying in an uncomfortable position for a long time, long work while kneeling on a hard surface, an unlucky step or jump, etc. If this happens, treatment should be started immediately.  A “fresh” joint inflammation can be cured within 2 – 3 weeks.* If neglected, however, treatment can take 2-12 months, depending on the level and development of the disease.* The therapy time can be shortened if the patient can perform fonotheraphy for the first 1-2 months as follows: 4-6 times a day with a proportionally shorter treatment time, whereby the total treatment time per day remains unchanged. The application of micro-vibrations does not require breaks and can be carried out continuously for as long as needed . The result and the progress of the regeneration of a joint are proportional to the time and regularity of fonotherapy procedures.

During the first 1-3 months, it may happen that no change is felt, but this does not mean that the treatment has achieved no results. The swelling, inflammation and therefore the pain may be delayed until a sufficient amount of dead cells has been removed from the tissue. In the case of a degenerative illness that has lasted for decades, it might take months for a change to be felt. In the first weeks the pain may get even get stronger because micro-vibrations foster the better innervation of the joint – therefore leading to stronger pain. This psychological barrier has to be overcome. The micro-vibrations do their job and clean up the tissue from the metabolic products, which is always beneficial to the restoration of the proper functioning of the joint.*
